I'm not totally buying this, but I'm curious to see for myself. My man David Carr has an article in the NYT about Montreal's hot rock scene.

I like how the singer's glasses are folded neatly in front of her...I didn't remember seeing *that* in any old Mudhoney promo stills. Maybe it's an indication of phoniness...?
Didn't SPIN do a joke article about a fake "scene" in the early '90s -- Northern VA, I think? Maybe this is another one of those. For some reason I hate that phenomenon but I love making up fake discographies. Go figure.
